There are two drives mounted below a three-way crossover. In principle, therefore, the switch behaves as two individual turnouts. So, operating with a regular turnout decoder is possible, but neither comfortable nor reliable.
This firmware, however, controls a three-way switch in a safe mode. The decoder uses three addresses (left - center - right), which can be assigned arbitrarily. When sending the command, partly two switching operations are performed in succession. And of course, the drives are protected by a time-out function (Auto power off after 0.5 seconds).
The main features:

polarity of the input signals as desired, no danger of wrong polarity
Dimensions 20 mm x 38 mm x 5 mm
Output current: 1.0 A continuous current, 1.5 A peak current

This firmware variant is no longer supported by newer control units or PC controllers.
Note: This decoder comes with no programming connector, for reasons of space. An already soldered processor may be reprogrammed using a test clip (careful soldering required).

This kit contains SMD components. However, soldering SMD components is much easier than expected ( 'Der richtige Umgang mit SMD' (Source: ELVjournal, German language)). You can also purchase this kit with partially preinstalled SMD components (see 'Available Options' below).

Construction manual, schematics and PCB layouts are delivered on a CD-ROM, including firmware (if applicable) and a great deal of additional information.

This kit comes with a pre-programmed processor.
