Using this kit, LEDs or bulbs can be controlled showing different light patterns; the decoder is addressed using either Motorola or DCC commands. The light function depends on the PIC firmware.

The processor included in this kit comes unprogrammed. Appropriate firmware is supplied with the kit.

This kit contains SMD components. However, soldering SMD components is much easier than expected ( 'Der richtige Umgang mit SMD' (Source: ELVjournal, German language)). You can also purchase this kit with partially preinstalled SMD components (see 'Available Options' below).

Construction manual, schematics and PCB layouts are delivered on a CD-ROM, including firmware (if applicable) and a great deal of additional information.
