A ready-to-use alternative: Micro servo decoder

 

The port assignment of this decoder is largely the same as the normal OpenDecoder 2, but in this version changes and simplifications have been made to optimize the decoder especially for servos. There are only outputs for 2 servos, no normal port outputs. The servos can be switched off and the decoder is equipped with a special filtering to keep the load peaks of the servo control away from the DCC signal. This makes this circuit optimal for applications where something has to be moved - e.g. a stop or a branch for the Faller Car System.

This kit contains SMD components. However, soldering SMD components is much easier than expected ( 'Der richtige Umgang mit SMD' (Source: ELVjournal, German language)).
