The turntable decoder system DSD2010 offers a wide range of possibilities. The system consists of several boards that can be connected as needed. It can be used both in a digital (Central station or PC) as well as analog controlled model railroad.
The display board is optionally usable only within the DSD2010 project. Using other turntable controls with this module is not possible.

Controlling a turntable directly via a digital central station is not for everyone. You need a lot of buttons for position selection and other functions. Depending on the control center, clarity partly is not overwhelming. Nevertheless, many users would like to use functions such as direct position selection, or sound and light, especially since the BW area is often a classic case for the "manual mode", so it is not always controlled by PC and control software.
This module now closes the gap, and can replace the previous operating switch of the turntable with its limited possibilities and contact problems. The turntable can be completely controlled via this board. Positions can be set and approached, functions such as light and sound can be operated, and operating status as well as error messages can be read off. The connection to the pit board is realized with a standard RS232 interface via a 9-pin serial extension cable (plug/socket), so that the pit board is mounted under the turntable pit, but the display board can be located in the control panel. (The connection cable is not included in the kit!)
Parallel operation with digital commands is also possible! If the central unit receives the digital command for a target position, direction of rotation etc. (for example triggered by a control software), the display module also displays this information immediately.

This kit contains SMD components. However, soldering SMD components is much easier than expected ( 'Der richtige Umgang mit SMD' (Source: ELVjournal, German language)). You can also purchase this kit with partially preinstalled SMD components (see 'Available Options' below).

Construction manual, schematics and PCB layouts are delivered on a CD-ROM, including firmware (if applicable) and a great deal of additional information.
