The s88 decoder is designed to provide feedback from contacts to the control unit.
It is primarily used with three-wire tracks, where you can isolate one rail track from GND to use it as a feedback path. Also, push buttons, switches or reed contacts that switch the RMK signal to GND, may be reported.

The s88 decoder can be operated in conjunction with every control system that supports the s88 bus.
Up to 31 of these s88 decoders can be connected in one system, which makes a total of 496 feedback contacts to be controlled (please check manual of central station resp. feedback interface). Programming of the individual decoder is not necessary, as the addressing is done via the order of the modules inside the s88 bus.

This kit contains SMD components. However, soldering SMD components is much easier than expected ( 'Der richtige Umgang mit SMD' (Source: ELVjournal, German language)).

Construction manual, schematics and PCB layouts are delivered on a CD-ROM, including firmware (if applicable) and a great deal of additional information.
